How the present boundary of Bihar was drawn
Concept
How the present boundary of Bihar was drawn
The States Reorganisation of 1956 is the first date in this boundary lesson. The printed count of Bihar's districts at that reorganisation is 17. The district the key says was included in West Bengal is Manbhum, not Raniganj and not the Twenty-four Parganas. A further question says that some area transferred to West Bengal was of Purnia and Purulia. That is the printed pair. Bhagalpur and Munger, and Jamui, are the pairs the key rejects.
The present boundary is a later event. Jharkhand was separated from Bihar on 15 November 2000, and that is the date the key gives for the boundary Bihar has now. The dates in April and May of 1956, and May 1951, belong to earlier arrangements.
